It's incredible how much this

It's incredible how much this research resonates with me. I am a woman and a severely compulsive procrastinator to where I have sabotaged my chances of getting into graduate programs, advancing my career, and even of applying to jobs I felt would be perfect for me when I needed the money. Interestingly, I have a father exactly like the ones described. He is distant-- i.e., never expressed much love or warmth towards me -- and is very authoritarian and critical. in fact, he's critical of me to the exclusion of criticizing my brother who is far more irresponsible than I am.

reading about this is ringing bells for me; even though I have been in therapy for a few years for depression and have analyzed my procrastination from every angle, I have not been able to figure out why even with all the best intentions I tend to sabotage myself by procrastinating. until reading this article, that is. however, now that i have this information, I am not quite sure what to do with it exactly and how I can use it to affect my procrastination.

any suggestions?
