Divorce Need Not be Destructive--Here's Why

Divorce Piggy Bank

Brilliant Idea Doc

What's so nice about your piggy bank concept is that it brings the reality of divorce into sharp focus. At the post office the other day, I saw a bunch of posters on the wall. Not the FBI's Most Wanted but Delinquent Dads. There was, just by way of example, an "air conditioning repair" fellow who owed $180,000 in alimony and child support payments. That individuals can get themselves into such a bind boggles the mind. Society really needs to rethink its notion of love/sex/marriage/kids and a big fat pig in clear view would make for an excellent reminder.

Deadbeat dads

Let's not forget the bias society of today shows when ONLY deadbeat dad posters go up when there are just as many deadbeat moms... Having seen the disparity between how men and women are portrayed in society today it's no wonder that divorce rates are so high. We've come to have an almost conditioned expectation of the opposite sex. Men always do this, women will always do that, we all know the truth is somewhere in the middle. Just a thought but if many of us would drop the expectations and institute the proverbial "pig" we might just get somewhere...

What a great idea...

I love the idea of opening a non-threatening channel of communication in this way, and raising awareness about the threat of indifference creeping into long-term relationships, seeping out its life blood, slowly but deadly.
May I re-post this article on my blog on Saturday with due mention of your bio, of course?
Thank you for letting me know, and sharing this great suggestion.
