Hillary and the snipers

We've all seen the video: Hillary tells tales of landing under sniper fire. Some, for instance the trusted authorities who upload things to YouTube are calling it a lie. But is Hillary lying? Read More

Nice article

It's a nice article - a good brain teaser. There is a solution though to this brain teaser. Look at her overall outlook. Is she consistently having false memories? Is she consistently creating false memories that happen to be for her benefit consistently?

Saying her parents named her after sir hillary, a man who climbed everest, when sir hillary did the feat when she was 7 was one instance. Talking about her heroic peacemaking skills in Ireland is another.

I think the general population is starting to sense that something is a miss and 53% on a recent poll don't even trust her. I think the world is at a perilous time and we need a leader who is firmly standing on solid ground - not someone for whom the very ground under her feet is shaky.

Nonetheless a nice piece - i just wish the stakes weren't so high so that we could laugh about it.

Sorry Prof. Your girl just

Sorry Prof. Your girl just lied.

She forgot her daughter went with her?

No, it's not a memory problem. It's a firm belief in creating the reality that gets you to win. Look into the camera and create your own reality. This has been the technique from the beginning. One day, an insider will write about it. It assumes the media and audience are too weak to wrest free from the hypnotic spell cast. The other Clinton technique is to throw rocks, then hide hands, in terms of race-baiting.

Hillary Lied

If it's just a false memory - how come she seemed to remember it correctly when she wrote about it in her book? She membered correctly then, but just forgot now? Seems she has the capacity to fabric false memories at will. What does that make her? Pathological?

Too Many "False Memories" = Delusional Personality

Okay, let's for argument's sake agree that Clinton's multiple "misstatements" aren't lies, but false memories:

-- She exaggerates her personal danger and/or substantive contribution to foreign policy achievements (Bosnia, Northern Ireland, Macedonia).

She has apparently selected campaign staff based on loyalty more than qualifications to do the job, so that most are clueless and/or afraid to tell the boss the truth. They don't warn her that she's going to be found out and made to look foolish. From all evidence, the latest fibs about Bosnia were not just off-the-cuff ad libs, but part of her prepared remarks.

-- She conveniently "forgets" that she agreed that the Michigan election wouldn't count when it later turns out that she wants to claim delegates based on her "victory" there, which she deems to be a "fair" contest, even though Obama's name wasn't on the ballot.

-- When she wants to campaign against NAFTA in Ohio and Pennsylvania, she conveniently "forgets" that in the 1990's she appeared at several public meetings as the featured speaker advocating passage of NAFTA.

The U.S. has suffered through 8 years of an administration with Orwellian contempt for "reality-based" thinking. Do we really want another Commander in Chief with the same deficiency?

Umm...

I might ‘misspeak’ about whether I lost my virginity at age 20 or 21. I might ‘misspeak’ about whether I’ve had 5 traffic tickets or 6 and I might even ‘misspeak’ about whether I weigh 150 pounds of 160 pounds. But I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t call it ‘misspeaking’ if I said I was being shot at while running for cover from snipers in Bosnia, where my husband sent me and my daughter because it was too dangerous for him and then the media shows footage refuting every part of my story. Is that ‘misspeaking?’ I think I’ll taking LYING for $200 Alex.

Hillary and the snipers

Just face it.... Hillary continues her attempts to establish her "credibility" by "embellishing" her life experiences. In doing this, she will "capture/entrap" some unsuspecting voters but by and large, informed voters will realize that her pathetic attempts are nothing short of lies.

I believe McCain could easily defeat Clinton, in a Presidential election but it appears that she (Clinton) will do that before McCain or Obama has the opportunity to battle her.

Going into politics

It seems to me that every politician lies, fabricates, makes stuff up. That's how the world works unfortunately. McCain and even Obama probably too - it's just a matter of who gets caught. Why would Hillary lie about something like this if she knew it was bound to get out eventually?

Could sleep be a factor? Perhaps having less of it while with the stress of the campaign trail (firing the emotional centers of the brain more rapidly) would have an impact and make false memories more ingrained.

heroes

It seems reasonable that Hillary would have made this mistake. People want to believe they are more heroic than they actually are, especially one would imagine, politicians. It would not surprise me in the least if she truly did believe she had arrived under sniper fire. I'm not a Hillary supporter but this does sound like a classic instance of implanted memory.

After all, Hillary is no dummy and I can't imagine she would fabricate something so easily verifiable. Wouldn't she know that the press would automatically look to confirm her story with her co-passengers? It is ridiculous to think that she would believe she could get away with such a baldfaced lie. And over something so trivial, meaning this is not a story that could have landed her in or out of the white house...it is after all just a colorful anecdote. Why would she risk being caught in a lie over such an inconsequential matter? Hillary may be many things, but she is not known for impulsiveness.

Hillary Lying

Why would Hillary lie about something that she knowingly is false? Because she's narcissistic and powerful. It seems to be a trend among the powerful and narcissists (they happen to be politicians, mainly)bc they think they won't be found out or that they are above the law. Hence why the seek power and act like George Bush and Eliot Spitzer...like arses...

Ex: Eliot Spitzer, Bill Clinton and Kwami Kilpatrick.

That's one point of view,

That's one point of view, but spewing out a trivial fact and seeking power/narcissm are two different things. Comparing her to George Bush....hmm....isn't that a bit harsh? This seems to be more of a biased opinion than anything.

I agree with what Reader said about Hillary being no dummy. Everyone makes mistakes - why should Hillary be any different? You could probably get dirt on anyone if you looked around hard enough for it.

Hmm?

George Bush isn't a dummy either. He has knowingly done a lot of things that make him a target of public trashing and I have to say I am almost refreshed by his willingness to put himself out there without a public opinion safety net. Hillary is so concerend with public image, she blatently lies about her experiences and then makes up some ridiculous explanation for it. Lots of people dislike Bush but at least they know exactly what they dislike about him. Hillary is just plain devious and that scares me a bit. Any good ideas she has are marred by her carefully crafted and ever-changing persona.
