Short answer: No
Long answer: It depends on what you mean by "natural." Are there any "natural" Olympic athletes? Or are they people with inborn talents and abilities that they have developed through motivated practice and feedback in a particular sport? For all his natural athleticism, Michael Jordan was a superior basketball player and a merely good baseball player. Read More

Matt manka and Debbie manka Psychologist story
I read the story about Lifestreams Solutions Counseling Center(Arizona) about Matt Manka And Debbie Manka. Matt was the Psychologist who married his patient Debbie and it destroyed their family and kids etc. There is a reason psychologists arent supposed to marry or date their clients. They have ultimate mental/emotional leverage over the patient. Mr. Manka should have considered the well being of her children and family before forcing his gold-digging agenda onto that family(who i undrstand are millionares). Its a disgrace, the whole story. Manka was even counseling the couple for marriage problems before moving in on the wife. Is she deaf, dumb and blind or what? Any comments out there?

truth wizards
Dear Maureen,
I've been reading a lot of your scientific articles about lie detection. I love your work. I also don't think that Bond was right. ;) But my question is as follow: are people able to judge a person based on just a photograph? I really think this is very untrue, even if you're a truth wizard. Eyes for Lies, certified by you as a truth wizards (you're quoted in a newspaper - is that also true?), claims that she can do that. Also she claims that detecting lies is an innate ability which I don't believe. This article says the opposite what she says.
Another question is: will there not be more truth wizards found, now that people now more about lie detection? A lot people can learn a lot now (statement analysis, Ekman's book, your work, read micro-expression and subtle expression by training, etc.), remove some wrong telling clues and there by improve their skills.
Thanks in advance for your reply.
Greetings,
Sander

Matt manka is a sociopath. He has had numerous unethical relationships with his clients including his present wife who was his client and I assure you that it was not two years between the couch and bed. He has a pattern of pursuing female clients, having sexual relationships with them and then building a professional relationship with them. He is a pathological liar and unable to tell the truth. It is a known fact that Debbie was his client. The therapy center in or land park protected Matt and did not hold him accountable nor did they report him to the board of professional regulations. It is hard to decide who did the worst harm, Matt or the other professionals who protected this monster.
The author of this blog has been duped by Matt. It's clear from the many blogs that have surfaced through he years that Matt has hurt many people.
My family and many other clients were harmed by this "psycho" therapist.
He should never see clients.
