Since the title of the post is "Tackling spirituality and the quest to find meaning," I found the following quote problematic: "I explained that whatever we pay attention to becomes our identity, our reality."

If spirituality comprises unlearning what you erroneously believe constructs "you"--hopes, fears, fantasies, attachments--then the quote points in the wrong direction.
