Good Enough Parenting
This is a beautiful post. It is so important that parents know that good parenting isn't about perfect parenting, it's about being human-- authentic-- and then our kids can learn how things really work.
This is a theme in the work that I do as well. In my most recent book, Freeing Your Child from Negative Thinking: Powerful, Practical Strategies to Build a Lifetime of Resilience, Flexibility and Happiness, there are many chapters that focus on creating realistic expectations for children, and even an entire chapter devoted to teaching kids how to handle failure, mistakes and disappointments. These are crucial lessons so that kids, when faced with adversity can persevere rather than give up.

Thanks again for an inspiring post.
