Health Care and the Elections—Part 3

The "science" of medicine has been hijacked by drug companies that package their advertising so effectively that physicians confuse science and marketing. This is especially so as repeated studies have shown that studies paid for by drug companies are about 40-2,000% more likely to report a positive result than if done independently. This means that our pharmaceutical "science" has been bought off to the point of being a scam.  Read More

Bullseye

Now that is a great article. Your observations and recommendations are valuable regardless of the party that takes office.

One of the biggest travesties in standard medicine is the rampant over-use/mis-use of psycho-pharmaceuticals. Eli-Lilly is a narco-terrorist criminal enterprise with its viciously deceptive marketing of the psycho-toxin Cymbalta. That drug has recently been approved by FDA for Fibromyalgia – the new Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Once that chemical menace gets traction with PCP’s prescribing for general aches and pains, tens of thousands of patients will have to suffer through its traumatic withdrawal symptoms.

You are an MD, so perhaps have a different perspective. But from my PoV, the distressing unintended consequence of psycho-pharm therapy is the diminution of talk therapy as part of a holistic intervention. Because of that, new physicians temperamentally unsuited for traditional psychiatric patient care enter the discipline with the idea that the job is essentially medication management. Moreover, they either discount or are not aware of the alternatives to drugs that you suggest.

BTW, if I were a psychiatrist, I would tell every patient to at least take a walk around the block every day. How often do psychiatrists actually prescribe an exercise routine or increased socialization early in the doctor-patient relationship? Rarely, I bet. Instead of a prescription for a daily stroll, the patient is given a prescription for Cymbalta that will fry their brain downstream. Something ain’t right in psychiatry for sure.

Anyway, I hope your efforts bear fruit. Good Luck.

"and are being blocked from using scientifically proven safe, effective and low cost natural therapies."
WHAT scientifically proven safe, effective and low cost natural therapies? You jackoff. You don't belong on anyone's health team.

Complementary treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome

You certainly got my attention with your claim about using B6 to treat carpal, but a quick google turns up a scientific study which appears to refute that claim:

Is the objection substantive, in your opinion?
