Postpartum depression usually occurs because your body gave up the oils in your brain (which come from fish oil)so the baby could make its brain. That was nicely self sacrificing of you, but you need to eat more fish so your brain will recover-and it will with eating enough fish or fish oil. Read More

Well meaning harm
I don't have Depression but study it, and your advice is harming people by keeping them off the brain saving antidepressants they need. You may of course continue your irresponsible rant but know i'll be there to challenge your childish understanding of what depression IS. very Sincerely-David
Please learn nmore about Omega 3
Please learn more about fish oils and omega 3 fats. Several studies show that it helps relieve symptoms of depression.
Got to agree. Evidence is
Got to agree. Evidence is pretty strong that omega-3 helps with depression, including a ton of other things like weight loss.
It's essential for the body and mind, but don't get me wrong... I certainly believe that some individuals may have genetic issues that could predispose them to depression regardless. I don't believe in magic cures.
It may even have some affect on schizophrenics.
From an article on various fish oil studies: In another study involving 20 schizophrenic patients, daily supplementation with 10 grams of concentrated fish oil (maximum EPA) resulted in amelioration of schizophrenic symptoms and tardive dyskinesia,[150] which is associated with the use of certain anti-psychotics such as Haloperidol. thanks and question
Thanks for this advice.
During pregnancy I took fish oil in capsule form (about 2 or 2.5 g) per day. If I don't want to take liquid, how many grams should I take postpartum to be in line with your suggestions, above?
Omega 3 Fatty acid
I like the message about fish oil,Omega 3 fatty acid. It provides a required nutrients for a healthy pregnancy and baby.Pregnant and lacting women may be at risk for mercury intoxication from fish consumption. In such case fish oil supplement is considered.
I have found a perfect supplement of Omega 3 fatty acid from Neurovi. It has no contaminants and is highly recommended for children and pregnant women.
Neurovi had more DHA(350mg/capsule) and is really important for brain development.
