Do you have times where it's like a light switch goes off, and your friends know that they have three minutes to feed you or you will kill them? Do you crave sugar? These are symptoms suggesting that your body's Adrenal Gland stress handling system is getting exhausted. Here's how you can support your adrenal "stress handler," so that you can feel better. Cartisol
I have lived a high pressure executive life style for 30 years and never felt fatigued or tired except last year when all of a sudden my various body functions started misbehaving---And when sodium chloride loss became intense i was diagnosed of having cartisol deficiency--and once put on medication everything became OK--
Many a times we keep on living a high stress life and with no fatigue or stress but system keeps on registering all the knocks and manifests as a problem one fine morning--
we think it has happened all of a sudden but no everything has a cause and effect---
Things are increasingly getting worse--for example my father lived a simple and healthy life--largely paeceful--I had a snakes and ladders knid of existence--and now when i look at my children i am amazed at their stress levels and general despondency--
may be we need to taech medutation and other defence mechanism subjects at the school level in future which we learnt as adults!!!!
Piles of researches on
Piles of researches on health have been encouraging people to eat right amount of food and proper vitamins. Anything in excess might harm us in so many ways. Now, to stop all problems on health and the likes, we need to give attention to not only what we eat but also ensuring the balance most especially in our daily activities that sometimes determine our emotions. Like for instance, at the end of the day, we get sot tired and irritable. Controlling our emotions over a certain situation will help us in putting a balance in our health. In this way, we can stay a little more relaxed and handle problems more logically.
inquiry
Just curious about why I (we) might crave sugar when stressed? Is it a physical or emotional craving? Am I burning off the adreneline quickly because I am stressed and therefore my body craves sugar because it knows it is a quick fix boost? Or is it an emotional response because it is a comfort food? Or even a "bad" food as a destructive behavior because I'm so stressed out I don't care (and want anything to quickly ease my mind and body from the stressful situation- which would be shoving a candy bar in my mouth)?
Adrenaline rush?
During the night, anywhere from 3 to 4 am, I am awakened with a pounding heart, dry mouth, and feeling of heat. Seems like this is adrenaline (or cortisol) at an inappropriate time. After that, I can't go back to sleep.
Several years ago cortisol testing showed way high level at 8am, but normal at subsequent times during the day. This was interpreted as the first stage of adrenal fatigue. No testing since then.
I have read that doctors say this kind of thing is adrenal fatigue, but no one seems to have any suggestions on what to do, other than eat something before bedtime. This doesn't work. I am on a low dose of cortef, but not sure this is appropriate.
Would adrenal glandulars fit this picture? Does it make sense to take something that increases cortisol when it is a big hit at the wrong time already? In other words, too much already, why take more in the form of a med?
Kinda gave up on endocrinologists. They don't even get thyroid right.
Adrenal fatigue syndrome
Adrenal fatigue syndrome medicines have to be taken regularly by patients. Doctors should diagnose the patients on a periodical basis. I know of an excellent website that offers qualified treatment for adrenal fatigue.
