Who didn't envy French women just a little when the book, French Women Don't Get Fat was released? French women seemed to know some secret about eating that we didn't. The book inspired many women to take a new look at their diet. A new survey suggests that French women may not be as stellar at eating as we once thought. Read More

French Women Eat....
French women are generally much thinner than most of their Western counterparts but they don't eat very differently or more consciously than others. There is no secret.
Why they are thinner is a mystery that has eluded me having lived all my life between the US and France.
DNA, anxiousness, who knows ?
Japan
Enjoyed reading this interesting article. Just one point, Japan has had no proliferation of fast food over the past few years. I have been living and working here for nearly 25 years and fast food chains, both western and Japanese, were well 'profilerated' then and decades ago. Cake stores and convenience stores tend to play a greater role in the eating patterns of women in Japan than MacDonalds or KFC in my experience. All the best to you and all your readers from Tokyo.
comment
Thank you for your comment! This is very interesting and informative. This is an excellent point that so many different factors contribute to mindless eating.
I lived in Japan in 1992 and then visited where I lived again in 2006. I was surprised to see Starbucks and McDonalds in places that were not there previously. Fast food is only one factor in eating problems. It's such a complex issue.
Thanks again for your comment!!
school project question
My commander has discussed with me the possibilities of writing a book titled "The Recovering Anorexic's Cookbook" containing recipes from basic recovery meal plans and maybe some interactive pages that mimic mindyourmind.ca 's alice in wonderland game.
He has asked me to contact an eating disorder specialist on how to do this, since I have no idea what sort of recipes to add, or even if this is a good idea for a book. I would greatly appreciate if you got back to me, you can contact me at curlytop36@hotmail.com
