To Buy or Not To Buy

Why we overshop and how to stop.

Are There More Shopaholics Who Want to Confess?

To Buy or Not To Buy- it's a question we ask and answer almost every day, and sometimes multiple times a day. For many people, it doesn't cause a lot of inner turmoil, but for compulsive buyers, it's a high stakes question, and an affirmative answer can be devastating. Read More

Very interesting topic. I

Very interesting topic. I am looking forward to future posts.

Where are the other posts?

I was eagerly awaiting this blog. I am in debt and not happy about it, yet I seem to be unable to stop the urge to buy more stuff. I was looking for practical advice and resources to help. However, It's been almost three weeks now and no new blog posts. Any other resources I could get access to?

More posts!

Yes, there are indeed more posts on the way, and I have just posted a new one, which should prove quite helpful as it includes many strategies to help you fight that "urge" as you shop.

More importantly, if you are ever in search of both more practical advice as well as other external resources unrelated to Stopping Overstopping, LLC, my website has many genres of resources for people with compulsive buying disorder.  I invite you to visit my website, www.stoppingovershopping.com, where you can find a great deal of information about the disorder itself and its treatment, a comprehensive resource  center with relevant articles from recent news, books, videos, and other websites, as well as a self-help quiz to help you decide if you have a buying problem.

I hope that both this information along with my most recent posts (as well as future posts!) will provide you with the helpful direction you are looking for to curb your compulsive shopping desires.

self-diagnosed shopping addict

I found you and your site through this article: 58 Warning Signs of a Shopping Addiction. I am self diagnosed for now, but I often buy DVDs (nature videos) online at the end of the month especially if I'm worried about making mortgage payments. I often don't watch them and they just sit around still in the wrapper. That was my tip off... Thank you for your articles - they are helpful and have given me some great tips for getting a grip on my debt, that I was stacking up one DVD at a time.
