Depression stinks. No doubt about it. Having treated dozens of individuals with depression over the years, while reading countless books on the treatment, I still believe that the number one factor that really enables me to get to the heart of this malady is my firsthand experience with it. These are all great tips for beating your day-to-day blues, but what about clinical depression? Don't you think that takes a little more work than sitting in the sunshine or "following a joyous lifestyle"? Easier said than done.
Alternative Therapies Work Best
Great tips in this article for preventing (and beating) the blues.

Treatments that have no side effects (only good ones like giving you more energy etc.) and are basically intravenous vitamin therapies really boost brain chemicals and remove the dark clouds. I resent the suggest that depression can be alleviated by "havin' a little faith " and how do you know there are no atheists in proverbial foxholes? Whilst I acknowledge that the Believer is by definition unlikely to experience existential angst and circumvent that black hole of depression, it is unfair and irresponsible to suggest that faith could "fix" your depression. To anyone who is suffering, don't cease any medications suddenly as the side effects may be severe , speak to a therapist - a qualified doctor - and always call emergency services if you feel you are suicidal.
