Comfort Foods

Wow! You're right, comfort foods DO take us back to our childhoods, and as a result, they also reduce our stress levels, something that can't be bad in these economic times, right?

And I agree, we have different comfort foods for different moods or days.... my husband gets a lot of comfort from having steak and a baked potato for dinner on Friday nights, to reward himself for getting thought the week...

My mother likes to make something she calls "milk toast" when she isn't feeling well, and she says it takes her back to her childhood, and spending time alone with her grandparents...who doted on her and made her feel very special.

We all have our comfort food rituals.

As for me, some "Lemon Chicken," from an old favorite Chinese restaurant sounds pretty good right about now. I wonder if it's really another Americanized Chinese meal?
