Psychology Today has just begun a blog site, and in addition to the magazine's editorial staff, a number of outside contributors, some of them well known, have begun delivering regular dollops of news and observations, all aimed at shedding light on the intricacies and oddities of human behavior as refracted through their uniquely informed perspectives. Thank u for opening a door that was forgotten, and thank u twice for inviting Giants among us to lead. I hope that I will take the challenge and meet you here. My experience with most psychiatrists in my local, caused me to be surprised that Peter kramer is one.
Thank u Peter for putting Hillary under a magnifier that we cann see the details, or see through.
I happen to admire her on two gtenants, A) as a precous wife- mother, stood by her husband in the darkest moments of his own making. and sought counseling
B)She really understood that," It take a Village to Raise a Child", in which She brought the African Wisdom in the Most advanced ! America ???
Unfortunately the Republicans who were running against Bill, did not understand it...No wonder the Most advanced in Technology is the Most awkward in human development
Yes, She is a good wife and mother, but may be a disaster to be at the helm of a nation
She is not even understanding why sahe is perceived as a divider and leads an antagonistic campain style.. since her first comment at Bill's first campain, prouding herself above all the mothers. In all debates and campaign speeches she is richly criticize and put down Obama. On the contrary, even in his criticism of her, Obama always talk with respoect and praise lof her.
It seems the proverb , Alikes attract alikme is true of her choice of advisors
Keep writing your jewels

The Blog
This past Oct. I gave an Alumni Presentation
on Multiple Personality (DID),a personal story. I spoke from personal experience and found that my talk was well received. I was told that it was informative and educational, so I thought it might be of value to the PT community. I believe this is definately an area where further understanding is needed.
DID
Congratulations on a powerful and informative presentation and much success in the future. Could you print the highlights of the talk herein? What do we professional most need to know about DID? It really does exist. What are your best sources? Thank you, Linda H,
DID
Dear Linda, Thank you for your response. It is difficult to print highlights, not sure what I would say. Basically my talk was about my experience with hospitalizations, medications and doctors treatment and approach toward DID. Also, I spoke from my experience about the lack of continuity in my life, the confusion and chaos caused by the multiplicity and the daily struggle I had coping with life. In terms of working in therapy with DID, I think it is vital to respect and appreciate the fact that the personalities are a real part of the client's experience and therefore need to be treated with the same attention and consideration given to any client.
As you probably know there are many books by professionals and by client's on DID. I found Nancy McWilliams chapter on Dissociation very staightforward and informative. I believe the most valuable source is the client with DID. Each client living with DID will have their own personal experience and that is what needs to be listened to and worked with. I have found too many sources categorize DID and paint all those with DID with the same brush. My experience as a Multiple was very different from most of the books I have read.
I hope this is helpful.

ACoA
I am wondering if there is still a network to learn and exchange informtion regarding working the ACoA population. My need is two-fold: I work with older high school students (almost adult)who have grown up in addictive homes. Also, personally I am in a relationship with a man who is an ACoA, and clearly some defenses are at work that create chronic difficulty for us.

Have you seen the worlds first global and patented Online Rehab Clinic (ORC) designed for identified patients, friends and family members? One can even participate as certificated student learners or professionals in residency. Hara, you're always on the cutting edge. We blog about the Sandwich Generation - facing the issues of a family in flux and dealing with the complexity of these relationships. We'll be sending you our ideas.
Interest in participating in the blog
I would like to share my experience using my 6lb miniature pinscher as a co-therapist. She assists me in play therapy with children and has become a welcomed companion with my adult clients. It has been a labor of love, a human interest story as well as of clinical interest.
I also am developing a treatment protocol for women recovering from abusive relationships. This would be a great forum to discuss these interests and am grateful to PT for the possibility of their support.

Child labour is a monster
Child labour is a monster which is engulfing the life of innocent children. Here specially in India child labour is a very common crime. One side we have big corporate houses of telecom, currency trading finance, IT, and almost in every field we have progressed, still we are not be able to stop child labour completely. These small children working in factories and industries, becuase they must be needy, hungry or forced by their parents or some cruel peoples, who targets them
But this should not be happen, we must stand together to stop this hazard which is going to destroy the future of the kids.
