What are partly baked ideas? They're off-beat, off-the-wall, partly-formed, embryonic snippets of ideas, that might even be off-limits to your everyday thinking. They're like idea-appetizers. They're often weird - they make you stop and think for a second, and then all kinds of crazy connections start coming up in your mind. Read More

PBI #6 - Outsourcing War
Karl,
I particularly like this one ... not because I think we should seek opportunities to fight, but because I think we have outsourcing vehicles that we love and use anyway!
Why not take applications from those who like to box, wrestle, practice martial arts, play hockey, etc. and have them "fight" the opponent to the finish. Decide, of course, in advance what they are fighting about, so there are no misunderstandings about what winning means. This way each negotiable point could be "fought" on its own terms, separate from everything else that may be on the table.
I imagine that war would be raised to a whole new level ... one where fair play, clarity of differences, expertise, the length of the war, rules of engagement, etc. are things the general population might even become interested in.
Thanks for the brainsnacks!! Yum.
