Happiness

I agree wholeheartedly with you. As i read somewhere in the words of Ernest Hemingway i think--no man is an island...."ask not for whom the bell tolls,it tolls for thee".It follows therefore,if we are unkind to someone we cannot be happy ourselves. But it is a different story for those who have killed their conscience through persistent evil deeds--they have perverted their whole line of thinking. They are not happy or well-adjusted but they fail to see where the root cause lies.
I especially liked your take on why medicines don't work on some patients. That is why it is important to interview not only the patient but also his/her care givers,so that we get a wider perspective over the situation.Mostly the counselees feel they have been wronged by others. They will seldom admit that their own behavior needs mending.I often tell them that if they are unhappy in a given situation then THEY ought to change--others are not bothered. This is a harsh truth which we all need to accept, because Aristotleian wisdom is rare today!
