Randi Hutter Epstein, M.D.

Randi Hutter Epstein, MD is a medical writer and adjunct professor of journalism at The Graduate School of Journalism, Columbia University. She received her BS from the University of Pennsylvania, where she studied history and sociology of science. She has an MS from The Graduate School of Journalism, Columbia University; and an MD from Yale University School of Medicine.  She has worked as a medical writer for the London bureau of The Associated Press, was the London bureau chief of Physicians' Weekly. She has had articles published in the New York Times, The Washington Post, The Daily Telegraph, Parents, More, Harper's Bazaar, among other newspaper and magazines. She lives in New York City with her husband, four children, two dogs, and a tortoise. Get Me Out: A History of Childbirth from the Garden of Eden to the Sperm Bank is her first book.
