Nelson Cowan, Ph.D.

Nelson Cowan (Ph.D. 1980, University of Wisconsin) is Curators' Professor at the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO and conducts research on working memory, the small amount of information one can hold in mind at one time, as well as its relation to attention and its development in childhood. He is past president of the experimental psychology division of the American Psychological Association and has served as associate editor for two journals.
