Debby Herbenick

Debby Herbenick, Ph.D., M.P.H. is a Research Scientist and Associate Director at The Center for Sexual Health Promotion and a sexual health educator at The Kinsey Institute for Research in Sex, Gender and Reproduction at Indiana University, where she writes and hosts podcasts of the Kinsey Confidential column. Herbenick has a Ph.D. in health behavior from Indiana University, a master's degree in public health from Indiana University and a B.A. in psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park. In addition, she is certified as a sexuality educator from the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists.

Herbenick's current research interests relate to women's and men's sexual function (orgasm, arousal, desire), sexuality following cancer treatment, vulvar and vaginal pain, and adults' use of sexual enhancement products. She has written for Men's Health magazine, Time Out Chicago, Velocity Weekly and Cheeky Chicago; maintains a blog at MySexProfessor.com; and provides commentary for television, radio and magazines. Herbenick is also the author of Because It Feels Good: A Woman's Guide to Sexual Pleasure and Satisfaction.
