Barbara A. Spellman

Barbara A. Spellman is Professor of Law and Professor of Psychology at the University of Virginia. She received her B.A. in Philosophy from Wesleyan University, her J.D. from New York University School of Law, and her Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology from UCLA. Her scholarly publications focus on experimental epistemology -- human memory, judgment, and reasoning -- and how these processes play out in the legal system. She is currently co-authoring a book on the Psychology of Evidence Law.
