The Tim Tebow Craze: What's the Big Deal About This Guy?

Is Tebow the first to 'assume the position'? Gimme a break!

So the guy poses as if he's praying; yeah, and...? Haven't people--celebrities, athletes--been doing this for years...thanking God for this or that? Don't many people do this every night, or at other times of their day?

Is Tebow the first athlete to exhibit some type of religious faith, or position? Noooo. So now because "Tebow" does it, it's some hot new craze to be mimicked across the land, across the world?

Since a teenager I've loved football; and yes, I understand the game. But I just don't get this Tebow-mania. What's so great about this guy? What's the big deal?

Yes, I know he treats disabled kids to his games and an after-event with him. That is great; it really, really is. But that event is reportedly a private thing, not for all to consume. Cool.

Do people really have to wear their religion on their sleeve, as if to say look at me people, I'm the holiest of holies? God knows one's heart; you don't have to force it on people. Let the works you do speak for you. The prayer-pose is now almost obligatory for him to do, so how genuine is it in all instances?

Is Tebow the best quarterback ever to live? I don't think so. What's his record; and isn't the team 8-8? [By the way, I've found the suggestion that Tebow is to football what Michael Jordan was to basketball most laughable.]

There are videos of people "Tebowing" all over the land, and in other parts of the world. For what...? Remember people, those people aren't really praying, they're just posing! Gimme a break.

Also, if I'm watching football, I don't need to see your private mini-prayers after every play. Just play the darn game.

This Tebow-craze just goes to show that, in our modern society, people will fall for anything. Our society is so gullible it's a shame. I just needed to vent about this. And while I'm venting, leave the MLK quote alone. King was a drum major for justice!

Anyway...given my Boston connection, I hope Brady kicks the Broncos' butt! Go Pats!
