What a week: A rare east coast earthquake happens as all await the first hurricane to touch American shores since 2008. Heat waves and droughts are affecting the west. Is nature mourning?
The current weather events prompted me to retrieve and simply share some words I wrote years ago. Perhaps you can relate--either now, or at some time in the past. Feel and enjoy a bit of mild creativity before we all hunker down and pray for those in the storm's destructive path.
NATURE MOURNS WHEN WE'RE APART

The earth quakes as angels spar;
Tornadoes blow when we're apart.
Hurricanes erupt the sea
All cause you're not here with me.
The moon stays hidden from night's view;
Daybreak starts without its dew.
Rain is dry and fire's all wet;
Flowers don't bloom and dogwoods fret.
The sun of day just won't shine
When we can't share this love so fine.
Stars don't glow, and the sky's not blue
When my arms are far from you.
