Because I'm the Mom

How mothering pervades all relationships in life.

When There's Room at the Inn: A story of miracles, Malawi, Madonna and motherhood

A very ill little boy, a couple on vacation, Madonna, a family

I have to share this extraordinary story of later-in-life parenting, of open heartedness, of building unexpected families, of miracles, of mothering, of Grace.

The story is just one of those miraculous things you hear about in the gym or in the dentist's waiting room and you think, 'no way that happened.' But it did. And now Cathleen Falsani and her husband, Maurice Possley, are the proud parents of Vasco. Writer Falsani begins her piece in The Huffington Post with an open letter to Madonna (the pop icon, not the other one):

"Dear Madonna,
Thank you.
Earlier this week, after a month-long sojourn in Malawi, my family arrived home In California with our newly-adopted son, Vasco Fitzmaurice Mark David Possley."

You've just got to read the rest of this amazing story in The Huffington Post here.

Television news picked up the story:
