Elliott Carter's long life
I admire Elliott Carter very much. I also knew Havergal Brian and Kaikhosru Sorabji, who wrote music into their 90s. Brian wrote 23 symphonies and four operas after he turned 75.
None of these, however, may be called a late bloomer. All were involved in music, and writing it, from an early age.
