Circuses: Wild Animals Do Not Belong in the Cruelest Show on Earth

Circuses do nothing for the animals themselves or for other members of their species despite claims to the contrary. Circuses make no contributions to conservation. They serve no purpose other than "entertainment" if you dare to call watching abused and terrorized animals performing stupid and unnatural tricks "entertainment". Read More

Circus elephants

Why you have a picture of African ele's when 99.9%, if not 100%, of all circus ele's are their cousins...the Indian/Asian elephant..I do not know...it does bug me though...there are marked differences and the Indian elephant is in far more trouble all the way around these days ...but still...the message is what counts...please show support if you can.
Don't get me wrong...ALL elephants need our support...it's just that most people don't realize, or think of the smaller eared, freckle faced, brownish colored beings with spirits that radiate so brightly, when they think of an elephant.
I am a former Ringling Brothers performer-whistle blower and have been doing everything in my power to help get the elephants out of there for over 30 years now.
I have been spending much of my time in India where most of the elephants were obtained and seeing for myself if, as Kenneth Feld states, "they practice the same training methods as the thousand year old mahout traditions...and...NO, in most cases, they do NOT!
This is according to my interviews and study of the government owned elephants, the forestry dept. that houses displaced elephants, several sacturaries, etc...
A few private owners and Temple owned ele's have not always been a pretty sight and I do what I can...which isn't enough...maybe someday though.
Still in all...have never seen anything as brutal on a daily basis as what I saw in the circus.
Forever altered my journey in this life....it's like this...once you know something, or someone, as amazing as the Indian elephant...you can't not know forever more....
Namaste
