Splinter's Anger Speech
Good job on the article! I believe the Ninja Turtle Raphael suffered from problem anger. He was always angry about something. In the beginning of the first movie he was upset because he lost his ninja weapon in a fight, so I guess he was blaming his feelings of lower-self value on losing the weapon, rather than his unconscious and self-defeating habits. After he storms out and spends all night by himself and getting into trouble, Master Splinter is waiting up for him at their sewer lair and says
"Raphael, come sit by me."
"Couldn't this wait till morning?"
"You will listen NOW! My Master Yoshi's first rule was: possess the right thinking. Only then can one receive the gifts of strength, knowledge, and peace. I have tried to channel your anger, Raphael, but more remains. Anger clouds the mind; turned inward, it is an unconquerable enemy. You are unique among your brothers for you choose to face this enemy alone. But as you face it, do not forget them, and do not forget me. I am here, my son."
Anger Management Failures
