Senator Obama gave a wonderful speech yesterday, one that would have been repeated on the news over and over again today. Motivating and inspiring, aspiring to reach Dr. Martin Luther King's dream, he left Democrats in awe. Read More

Gov. Palin's readiness to lead has been overstated here.
Hi, I respectfully beg to differ here. . . to me, the questions at the bottom of Dr. Cora's post don't particularly follow from her praise for Gov. Palin. It seems to me the choice of Gov. Palin wasn't about Gov. Palin; it was about Sen. McCain. I never even heard of Gov. Palin until Friday -- that's leadership? Two years ago Gov. Palin was the mayor of a town under 10,000; I cannot imagine voting for her to be a heartbeat away from leading the free world. I'm sorry, but this isn't someone it's reasonable to place second in line for POTUS. There are more electable conservative females Senator McCain could have recruited and many other alpha females in the USA ( for instance, see the Forbes list at http://www.forbes.com/2008/08/27/most-powerful-women-biz-powerwomen08-cz... ).
Thanks for hearing my bit.
Wow
There is a Dr. in front of your name but what is presented to the readers here amounts to little more than a partisan tool's talking points.
Way to put your education to work...
I agree with you that McCain
I agree with you that McCain stole Obama's history-making argument. Even though I'm a Democrat, I am underwhelmed by Obama's passiveness and risk aversion as a candidate. He hasn't reached out credibly to the supporters of Hilary Clinton and Clinton has done more on behalf of Obama than vice versa. His relationship with his wife appears highly traditional in contrast with that of the Clintons.
I thought it was the point to give women choices.
Hello,
I think it's good when women have choices about where to invest their energies. Michelle Obama seems confident in her choices.
Obama vs Palin isn't a relevant comparison to me because they aren't running for the same job. The choice voters have this Fall is Obama-Biden versus McCain-Palin. Clintons aren't a choice on this ballot except as write-ins.
Given the choices before me, I compare Barack Obama in his relationship with Michelle Obama against John McCain in his relationship with Cindy McCain. My thoughts are informed by items like this:

That's our choice, my fellow citizens: Obama-Biden vs McCain-Palin.
Interesting Perspective
Dear Psychology Today,
I'm a big fan of your magazine and love to buy a copy at my local book store. However, "Dr." Cora's opinion here isn't very well thought out. I now find myself questioning my choice in magazines.

Not quite so subtle in
Not quite so subtle in throwing your political leanings into the mix, eh. Can we try to stick with the format here? You might want to try blogging for Karl Rove or William Bennett.
Palin & Legislative Responsibilties
"for any of those who have had chief executive experience or understand it, nothing compares legislative responsibilities to making key decisions and executing them: there is a major difference when the buck ends with you. Governor Palin made various decisions for her state and got things done."
Are you kidding me? Governing what? The massive popoulation of moose that she loves to hunt? Or do you mean the population of 683,478 people, many of which have drinking problems, Fetal alcohol syndrome & are suffering from depression. The state has one of the highest suicide rates.
Alaska also has a problem with "brain drain." Many of its young people, including most of the highest academic achievers, leave the state after high school graduation and do not return.
So who exactly is she governing?
