Beating Jet Lag

Rescheduling dinner may be one of the best ways to battle jet lag, say researchers at Texas Southwest Medical Center. What and when you eat is just as critical to shifting circadian rhythms as is sunlight.

To adjust to a new time zone, travelers should switch over to their destination's meal schedule when they board the plane and opt out of dining that doesn't fit into that plan.

Eating can also help the body adjust to a nocturnal schedule. So if you work the night shift, try having an evening breakfast when you get up and dinner in the morning before going to bed.
