Help For Jiggly Joints
Gelatin, the slippery substance that makes Jello jiggly, may serve a higherpurpose.
A gelatin-based supplement called Nutrajoint, made by Nabisco, was first marketed as a balm for joint aches in the elderly. Now, David Pearson, Ph.D., of Ball State University, has found that Nutrajoint also reduces knee pain and increases range of motion in athletes.
Any active individual can benefit from gelatin, he says, because it contains amino acids which heal injuries and prevent new ones from occurring. Nutrajoint, sold in supermarkets, holds 10 times the concentration of gelatin present in one serving of our favorite childhood treat.
