Tall order
Short people got no reason to live," Randy Newman sang back in 1977. Itturns out he was wrong. Suicide, it seems, is one instance where short guys come out on top. Wayne State University sociologist Steven Stack, Ph.D., recently found that men under five feet six Inches tall commit suicide less often than their taller peers. The reason may he that the vertically challenged are prone to the Napoleon complex, developing mental defense mechanisms to compensate for what some might see as a tiny imperfection.
