Singing for psychology

Yep, it turns out the Grammy-winning jazz-pop crooner has a bachelor's degreein psychology and a master's in rehabilitation counseling. So it's only fitting that Jarreau was the star attraction at a benefit concert for the California School of Professional Psychology. Proceeds from the concert will help the CSPP provide Los Angeles residents some 250,000 hours of free counseling next year. Given that L.A. has been racked with riots, earthquakes, fires, floods, gang shooting, and the O.J. Simpson trial, the community counseling program is "vitally needed to help heal this city," says CSPP-L.A. chancellor Lisa Porche-Burke, Ph.D.
