Reports that Prozac antidepressant cannot cure trichotillomia or chronic hair pulling.

Finally, something that Prozac , doesn't help. America s most popular antidepressant has been lauded as an effective treatment for everything from obsessive-compulsive disorder to bulimia and PMS. For all we know. Prozac may whiten teeth, freshen breath, and protect against the Ebola virus. Still, it can't cure everything. Researchers at the Baylor College of Medicine report in the American Journal of Psychiatry (Vol. 152, No. 8) that the drug is no more effective than placebus as a remedy for trichotillomania--chronic hair-pulling.
