Where the shrinks are
If you fear there's a psychotic breakdown in your near future, do yourself afavor: head northeast. We counted the number of psychologists and psychiatrists per capita in each state and found that therapists tend to cling to New England, although the nation's capital is numero uno, with one therapist for every 400 people. (California didn't even make the top 10.) And if you are unlucky enough to be in Mississippi or Arkansas for your breakdown, you may have to wrestle with 10,000 others for your choice of two therapists.
